April Showers????????????

Sorry folks I know it's been a long time since you heard from me but I couldn't force myself to write after a depressing April. I had a few glimpses of success but I could close the deal on a tournament.I know playing this game that you will experience your fair share of highs and lows but April was devastating in my book.I took the last few days off so I could get into May. I felt like a major leaguer who hit 40 home runs and struck out 200 times.I played so bad that the coach had to put me on the bench lol.Anyway I started off my May with a trip to Austin and a weekend at Mook's.More details to come later.Until Next Time...............

Live Poker!!!!

Part I

Im playing in a live 1/2 ROE (NLHE/PLO) when I take a beat so bad that the only thing that I could do was walk away.Let me set it up for you.Ten handed table I've been playing solid all night, haven't taken any beats basically in control of my surrondings.The villian to my immediate left is the usual soft weak tight rock min buyin guy who's been felted 3 times in the last hour and is currently watching from the sidelines.A donk walks in at 2am and buys the rock back in.That's ok more money to take right!!!! Anyway the rock is playing like a donk and is stinking up the joint.Pure donkish lol!!!He's playing so bad and he verbally admits it.He calls two all in with AJ basically putting himself all in against 3 other players.He's up against AK, K10 and Q10 in a big pot. A ten hits the flop and theres huge side action annd I look at him and see that he's in bad shape.Then it's horshoe time.The guy goes runner runner for a one card straight with his jack!!!! So sick. WOW

Part II
This luck sack still sitting here when someone makes a $35 preflop raise and gets a caller.The rock calls as well putting 60% of his chips in.The flops comes out 8d 2h 9c and the original bettor makes a pots sized bet.The villian says I cant fold its too much in there and he call off the rest of his chips.The bettor has pocket tens and the villian is holdind A7of clubs so hes dead to an ace or is he???? The villian goes perfect perfect again for the nut flush!!!!(running clubs) Twice in one night how could he.Damn!!!!

Part III

Still playing NLHE and things have calmed down.EP raiser makes it 12bucks to go and he gets flatted I look down and see that I have two 10's. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Lets get some money in this pot.I pop it to 60bucks to see where I'm at hoping to get one caller when the villian shoves in $160bucks putting himself all in.I'm thinking what are the odds that this idiot could have me beat.I gather my thoughts and decide to pick a better spot and show the tens.The villian shows pocket rockets!!!I lose 60bucks with out seeing a flop but it could have been worse.We run it out and we both flop a set.UGGGGGGLLLLLLLY!!!!!!!!!!

Part IV

PLO or as we call it OMA-DRAW.

Im in middle position with 22J10suited and figured I would see a cheap flop since I have rocks behind me.They all flat and its a family affair!!!! The flop comes out 922all red and I have to contain my joy.Flopped Quads!!!!!Oh what a feeling!!!Someone's in big trouble.A early position player bets another calls and I flat call loving the action.The villian to my immediate left says Pot!!!I'm thinking that I gonna snap this idiot off.What is he doing betting a draw???? First bettor folds to me and I call quickly.The villian says huh???? I dont have that much left so I want to get it in so as soon as the dealer knocks the table I pot it in the dark before the turn card comes.The dealer puts a 9 on the turn and the villian says I have to call.The villian turns over pocket 9's for a bigger four of a kind.OMFG Are you kidding me???? I want to rip the deck and choke the guy so bad.Such a sick feeling.I mean we're ten handed so 40 cards are dealt leaving 12 behind.You burn one(11) and you flop three(8) giving me quads.You burn another (7) and turn him bigger quads(6).So there it is I flop quads in ten handed PLO and I'm turned stone dead.I just get up and say "nice hand" and drive myself home before I wind up doing something stupid.

February Review

Sorry bloggers. Sorry that I didnt have time to post in February.It was a busy month for me. Ran card dead the entire month and couldn't wait for it to be over.The only positive thing that happened to me was a fabolous trip to Las Vegas. Las Vegas can be a great stress reliever. I wanted to see where I was at confidence wise and I found out very quickly.Well I played very deep in 2 tourneys at the Sahara and I bubble the 10k guaranteed at Binions. Man I wanted to cash in that real bad!!! Anyway I felt a little down because I'd never made the money in a Las Vegas tourney but I wasn't going to give up.I knew that I needed to keep playing.
So I went down to the Stratosphere to play in the 12am tourney. I was shocked to find out that the tourney was full (3 tables) and they weren't taking any alternates. I was very depressed and I decided to play some slots adjacent to the poker room.Twenty minutes later they made an alternate list available and i signed up. Finally got my chance to play.Yessssss!!!!!!!!! So I sit down in the small blind and it limps around to me. I complete the small blind with jack five offsuit a marginal hand at best. Here comes the flop holy $%$& trips fives!!! I flopped the joint now I gotta get paid.What do I do I check the flop of course. A middle position players bets and it folds around to button who raises the mid position player.With the board being paired I'm putting him on two pair or somekind of draw so I flat call. The turn card is a seven putting a straight on the board so I check for pot control. The mid postion player checks and once again the button bets.Well I felt like I still had the best hand at the time so it was time to put some more money in the pot so I check raised all in!!! Mid position folds and the button insta calls. Oh %$@# what the heck just happened??? We turn over the cards and I have trips as previously stated and the guy on the button has a straight!!!Damn he reraises on the flop with a gutshot and gets there no waiting on the turn.Life sucks one hand and done.Well at least I still have some outs but my chances are slim.One more card.I need a miracle card to come.So I ask the poker gods to get me there one time !!!! River card is .....................a SEVEN!!!!!!! yes!!!!! giving me a full house and momentum to take down the tourney for 900 bucks!!! Sweet!!!

What A Week!!!!!

Hey guys finally put together some cashes on stars.As you know I play the 180 sngs trying to build my roll.Well thing are coming along well.I had a 1st,2 2nds, and a 4th.Yesssssssssssss

Feeling like a winner

Ok I know variance is a thing that you go through but boy does its sting. I won a tourney on Dec 31 that I thought would usher in a new beginning for me but boy was I wrong!!!! That was my last cash in a tourney . I mean I bubbled in every conceivable way possible.No cashes in my last 20 tourneys on stars and 15 tourneys with no cashes on FTP.It hurts because I have a lot of free time because of my injury and all I want to do is play poker.I mean give me a break!!!! So what do I do????I have 6 bucks ( thats right!!) left on my stars account. I decide to play in a dollar tourney on stars and finally make the money!!! a whopping 3 bucks. Man playing at 5am and winning 3 bucks never felt better.I guess it motivated me.Since then I've made few cashes and several final tables. I even won a tourney on FTP this week. Feels good to be a winner again.

Year in Review 2007

Ok let's begin

This is my first post and I would like to start it off by reviewing the last year. 2007 was a good year overall as I gained more confidence and love for the game of poker. Now I didn't make a lot of money as I set modest goals but the experience was wonderful. In 2007 I ventured into the world of online poker and boy was I shocked at how fast the game moved.It was very hard to understand ( I had no clue on where to begin and what game to play but as luck would have it I turned my initial deposit of 50 bucks into almost 700 in a few weeks!! Well that was in January and a year later I'm down to 17 bucks due to the fact I suffered a knee injury and had to use my roll to get through the rest of the year. Life sucks bad beats happen and I end my year saying that Luck is for Losers!!!!!!
